Great episode. That Benjamin Button bit made me laugh hard. I am disappointed that of the 2008 films, neither Dear Zachary nor Let the Right One In were mentioned. Great films that, at the very least, deserve honorable mentions. Here's to another year of movies and reviews!
  • Hadn't seen 'Let the Right One In' when we record this - though that's a film I'd recommend any lover of vampire pics to see + have seen trailers for Dear Zachary - will check it out when get the chance
  • The beginning was awesome! I could see the CGI aged version of you jett so clearly ;) Great intro!
  • Cheers - thanks for listening.

+ maybe I really am old and am just using advanced CGI tech to appear young on the show...
i mean - after having watched The Curious Case of Benjamin Button I certainly felt like i had aged.
  • The Baron
You had aged. Three hours to be exact, and you can never get that time back.
  • You're right - I was never as young as when I entered that cinema.
  • Tom
Enjoyed the Button sketch Jett, but still want to check that one out for myself.

Hate to say it, but as much as I enjoyed the show this week I felt a little short changed. Gareth had already posted his top 10 (11!) so no suprises there, I was looking forward to your 10. The comments you made were inetersting, but come on - let's have your top 10!
  • Sorry ya feel short-changed Tom - out all the films of the year = the 3 things i mentioned are the ones i think will stand out -

+ if ya want a little sumptin :) 2 most extraordinary films i've seen this year are:

    this one

    and

    this one
  • Tom
Thanks for that Jett, I'm a little pacified.

The subject matter of Che didn't really appeal, nor its length, but I've always liked Soderbergh's style, so may have to check this one out anyway. As for Lola Montes, I'm not likely to see it playing anywhere near me, but'll have to track it down over the net.
  • According to Lovefilm (no Netflix in the UK!) it's due to be released on DVD over here on Feb 23rd.
  • I'd really recommend both films - Lola Montes is a heady brew - but so beautiful to look at, and Che has a slow, graceful style that I found hypnotic.
  • jett, i have to agree with tom here. i think you guys made a clip show without intending to do so =)

loved it nonetheless, the button sketch was/is hilarious. im still going to watch it once i can get a copy from jeff love though.
  • Clip Show!??! Ah, c'mon - especially after all that time spent on the Benjamin Button scenes! ;) and it's certainly not as bad as Shades of Gray - you know - Riker gets whacked by an 'alien parasite' and spends the whole show hallucinating previous shows?!!?

  • are you saying im hallucinating past shows? i guess that's possible and perhaps makes sense. need to go pick up some alien parasite killer next time i go to the grocery.
  • Enjoyed the list - lots I haven't seen. Can't say I enjoyed Jett's taste in soda...if the accent didn't raise questions, the choice of 'Pepsi' certainly cemented that Jett is no southerner....

Please, in the future, it's "Coke"!
  • yep, over here everything is 'coke' ! :D even pepsi...try figurin' THAT one out ;)
  • Just for your information I wrote a new blog about the nominations for the Visual Effects this year :
