Ah Gareth, you actually beat me to it by telling Jett that his favourite film of all time (for this month anyway) came 36rd in Empire magazine's top 500 (guess I'm allowed to mention it by name arn't I?)

Was sorry to hear that Be Kind Rewind would end up on your stinkers list Gareth, you two didn't review it on the show did you? I think it has to be one of the most badly marketed films of recent years, with the trailers focusing completely on the scratch versions of popular films. What you actually get is a rather sweet film about the value of creativity in the face of corporate movie making and the importance of community, two things that I thought the good doctor held dear? And, in my humble opinion no one in contemporary cinema plays half asleep with quite the charm of Mos Def.
  • Haven't seen 'Be Kind Rewind' - but was surprised too to find that the Prof. Doc. did not care for it - I'll put it on my Netflix queue!

Hello Listener - re: Be Kind Rewind - I agree with Tom - it's a delicate little film whose marketing implied something other - I REALLY wanted to see the film that they advertised. But I liked enough of it to go back and revisit at some point, now that I know what to expect.
  • Totally agree re: The Pineapple Express...best trailer I've seen, felt I saw a completely different movie. Not bad, but not that good.

As Jett & I have discussed previously, hope to see more of Danny McBride in the future (and yet hoping he doesn't start showing up in every movie).

It won't happen, but I honestly think Downey's performance will be one of the best of the year and is worthy of an award.

Tommy, I didn't see 'BKR' either, but the premise sort of reminded me of how I spent my summers growing up - remaking blockbusters in my backyard. Our production values were terrible....
