Jett, it was lovely going to the show with you. Your presence added a hitherto unforeseen edge to the Star Wars viewing experience. Also a note to say that Jett wasn't the aggressor in the situation, he was just being his usual vocal self.

Jett, I feel sorry for you. Why can't you just enjoy a film for what it is, why do you have to try and be clever and over analyse it (remember when we went to see the first Star Wars film, you were definitely being over critical on that occasion!, and all the fans dressed up in their costumes, because it was the first day of release, really didn't appreciate your ongoing critical commentary, almost got into fisticuffs then as well) . Tell no one is not about high art it's about going on a enjoyable rollercoster ride, live in the moment and enjoy it. Tell No one was definitely one of my favorite films of last year, even with the plot holes that I knew were there, but didn't want to think too much about.
Ponylander, thanks for confirming what I suspected - that Jett has some irrational views on universally good movies...i.e. 'Star Wars' (especially if in fact you are referring to Empire Strikes Back, the best of the original 3 - makes it even more mind-boggling).
And not related to anything, but I like to think Ponylander's "font" is from his favorite movie character, "Ponyboy Curtis" and his favorite movie, "Zoolander"....just because it amuses me....
Just released from VintageFilmBuff.com is a boxset of Ann Savage movies that haven't been seen since the fifties. Apology For Murder is the main title, with The Dark Horse, Treasure of Fear, and several more obscure titles. So if you liked Ann in My Winnepeg, you may really enjoy these classics.

Man... just listened to this week's Film Talk. Sounded like Jett was ready to engage in fisticuffs. I'm all about watching crap movies, but I have to enter it with the right mindset or I won't enjoy myself at all.
(stupid mic is broke, so i can't leave a vid comment...maybe if i use sign cards..?) ok, so i watched the trailer for 'Tell No One' and picked up from it that it was supposed to be this mystery/thriller (not having seen the ashley judd/morgan freeman pic that gareth mentioned)...then i found THE scene....the one with the U2 song:
look, maaaybe it coulda worked (not having any context of the movie that surrounds that scene) if they had done it as a instrumental, string heavy piece, subtly in the background...but, regardless, none of that at all works in my head for a thriller...
P.S. i like crash, as convoluted and implausible as it maybe as a story, it had it's surprises and if a movie can still surprise me, it gets a note in my head
i will close with my new favorite phrase: beaver roundup!
Dear me - all I can say is that the scene works perfectly for me in the context of the film; it's a rare example in movies where a piece of music is actually the one playing in the character's head when we hear it. I'm still a fan and friend of the Maestro, but I think this film deserves a first look.
Watching that scene, it does seem the music doesn't quite jive with the scene/shots....but in fairness, I haven't seen the movie and don't know what led up to this moment, so I can't really say. I love that song, however.
How about 'Matlock' in French? Even better, I'd love to see Andy Griffith delivering his lines in French with a heavy southern accent.
