Am sure what you guys are on about I would only point out that I'm in a tropical paradise yet put checking in to TFT above frolicking in the waves.

Much to the consternation of my collegues who think I'm nuts.

But they're all drunk on mango rum drinks at 10 in the morning.
  • I'm sure your pasty skin is not quite accustomed to the sun exposure going from N. Ireland to Tennessee to Tropical Paradise-somewhere-near-the-equator, so by all means, stay indoors and keep checking in with us.

Dear Listener - just to let you know, one of the beautiful aspects of our new site re-design is that the posts are divided into 'blog' and 'show' - have a look at the top left hand corner of the site, underneath the banner - and click on 'show' for other posts. Not sure the Dear Listener has noticed this yet, and we are always here to help.
  • Yeah, am not sure if it´s clear enough re: the different parts of the site = if anybody has any suggestions = much appreciated.
  • Am very aware, Good Prof. Dr.

Was merely responding to Jett's preference to defer any oceanic activities in favor of responding to the Dear Listeners here on TFT.

It is not my intent to divert the conversation away from the topic of this podcast, only to reaffirm the Former Maestro's committment to the Listener.

  • I've seen the Fall - and, well let's just say I got real hot under the collar about it! Power's about to go out again and so must go but I think it's in the last 4 eps or so - will look for it later. Thanks for leaving a video comment - very cool! :)

    A message from Sean Penn
  • Professor doctor Gareth Higgins knows the webcam steals your soul. That's why he's the professor doctor.
  • Too bad this isn't 10-15 years ago or so....I'd like to think you were down there securing a special "Film Talk" episode with General Noriega.
  • Hmmm...close but no cigar Mr. Phil. I am not in Panama...(I feel like a should give a t-shirt away to anybody who guesses where I am - but frankly that´s creepy).
  • "Do you know the way to San Jose.." sorry, that dang blasted song is stuck in me head...
  • + we would never get the t-shirt anyway ; )
  • Hmm...not sure what ya mean there. T-shirts are going to everyone who wrote a review but will have to wait till I return to the U.S.
  • I seem to recall past promises of t-shirts.....did you ever deliver to this poor girl?
  • oh crap - ok i´m on it!
  • PDGH,

While I agree that Jett is unquestionably a podcasting virtuoso, I think it might be a bit preemptive to apply the title Maestro. Im not sure that greatness has to be equated with a title or nickname (cf. MacGuyver, Mr. T). All I'm saying is that we may be moving a bit fast; perhaps we should slow things down, wed best not force a nickname or title before its time.
  • I agree wholeheartedly Matt - am not comfortable with the whole 'Maestro' thing that's been introduced - maybe when we've been 'on the air' for 20 years! :) (don't laugh it may happen - we'll be podcasting from the moon!)

Jt., (commenting from a Central American Isthmus)
  • If person who carries the titles "Professor" and/or "Doctor" instructs me to address you as the Maestro, then by-God, I think you should do it.

When you say Central American, do you mean central United States (because we consider ourselves the only "America"), or do you mean Central America by what the rest of the world calls Central America?
  • Nope, I'm in Central America Central America on my way towards hiking up a volcano - upon which the locals tell me, if I'm lucky, I'll be able to see both the Pacific and Atlantic oceans.

+ I appreciate of course what you're saying re: the 'Professor Doctor' - still a man's gotta know his limitations and I'm not sure that I'm at 'Maestro' status just yet!
  • Whoo boy - the technology works!

Not that I can watch 'kiley's' video comment of course cause I'm stuck here in outside the Nathan's Hot Dog Emporium at the Ft. Lauderdale Airport on my way to a Central American Isthmus! (I promise I'll watch it when I touch down!) :)
  • Thanks to my geography lessons I learned from the Maestro over on Letter To America, I knew what to expect when I heard mention of the Giant's Causeway in HBII - of course only to be disappointed (but mildly entertained to see "Antrim, Northern Ireland" in print on the movie).

Also, I've always thought 3-D to be a hokey technology...I took my girls to scenic Chattanooga, TN this weekend and we saw "Dolphins & Whales" at the IMAX in 3-D...I felt like I was cross-eyed half the time while watching it. Maybe JTTCOTE has better technology. I loved the Prof. Dr's review of the movie....
  • Whoo hoo: Take 2!
  • Hey there Kiley - just managed to see your video comment - thanks for being the first one to try it out!! :)

Gareth's gotta watch it so he can address your point re: the racism of GWTW. You brought up a valid point and I didn't press him on it re: was the film racist or depicting a time of open and unapologetic racist culture - I suspect he'll say both - we shall see!
  • I tried to leave a video comment, but it's not here! I'll try another :P, but it may double post!
