Ah, sorry to hear you feeling low guys! Only just got round to listening to your show yesterday. You keep me company on the long road to and from work - so keep rambling, keep it off the cuff and fresh. And wow! Like the new site design!

Thanks so much Phil - glad you enjoy it! :) (regardless of the length!)
That's why it's good. Any normal conversation is going to go on tangents, and I glean a lot of info about movies I wouldn't ordinarily know - which I would think anyone who enjoys movies would find interesting.

Cheers Phil re: being hard on myself. But I want every part of 'The Film Talk' to be special - it can't just be random ramblings of two guys - there is already a huge supply of that on the intertubes.
Of course, the thing is 'The Film Talk' is an actual conversation - one long talk about movies brought to you every week - Gareth and I don't compare notes before the show so we don't know what the other is going to say; so I still want to keep it fresh while still being a bit more engaging - or dare I say it: commercial?
As I understand it, between now and several years from now, there is slated to be an "Iron Man 2", "Thor", "Captain America", thus culminating to an "Avengers" movie consisting of all these characters + the Hulk.
The question is, "how will they afford all the stars of those movies?" and the initial answer seems to be "CGI".
P.S. - I think you were too hard on yourself with this episode of FilmTalk - I enjoy the rambling and a less-than-energetic Jett Loe is still pretty energetic...

Thanks for the info Phil - (though why Marvel would be spending so much time setting up a movie that combines characters ((thereby diluting its ability to make money = more characters in more movies = more money, rather than lumping them together)), is not clear.
I have now seen 'The Incredible Hulk', (contrary to my pledge not to see it as stated in Part 24), and...well...guess I'll talk about it in an upcoming show.
Gareth's criticism (spoilers ahoy) of the ending of the I.H. where Banner's eyes turn green and he is smiling is actually alluding to the comic book story line where Banner finds a way to control the Hulk's emergence, I believe - which is setting up all the future movies, such as "The Avengers", which the Hulk is a part of that "superhero team" only because Banner can now control when the Hulk shows up. (yes it is sad that I know this)
However, I agree with it's cheesy appearance on it's surface and without this knowledge.

Thank you for the kind words D.L. I actually don't know where Professor Doctor Gareth Higgins is at this moment - somewhere south of here, hopefully safe and well, (I appreciate he's got to be where he's got to be - someone's got to return that crystal skull!).
